Folks,
I'm looking for some sage advice on replacing a logic board on a Power
Mac G5. I've gathered a few things whilst researching this:
1. The Power Macs' liquid cooling heatsink seem to have a tendency to leak.
2. Replacing the board is actually pretty easy.
3. After replacing the board, some thermal calibration must be done. The
software tool is generally only obtainable by Mac repair specialists,
and some folks have really messed up hardware trying to run the
calibration.
If any of y'all have some good advice, please let me know. I came into a
dual-proc G5 and want to get it working but it needs a replacement logic
board.
Thanks!
Tom King
