Hi XCSSA!
As you know, I am planning on bringing my MB-6852 SID synthesizer in
next Monday. I don't think I will have a full demo quite ready (part
of the problem is figuring out how to mix all the outputs, plus needed
to invest in a newer version of Cubase, among other things). I'm going
to see how far I get but one thing I really wanted to show was the
capabilities of the synth at playing SID tunes. These nowhere near
exploit the capabilities of the sync, but man do they sound good!
The trouble is I need a Windows machine to do it because I have yet to
find an application for OS X that can output the Sidstation format the
MB-6582 recognizes. SidPlay apparent used to but I have only found
HardSID support from older versions and the newest version has
stripped out all hardware support. Now I'm planning on using BootCamp
and simply install Windows. But I'd like to have a backup just in case
that doesn't work out.
If someone would be willing to allow me use of a Windows XP PC or
laptop, that would be fantastic! I do need some software installed,
however:

Alternatively, the HVSC collection might be fun to have if you enjoy
SIDs. I was going to bring the handpicked ones likely on a USB thumb
drive just to make things easier:

Note that for playing SID music on a PC, ASID XP kinda sucks, so I
would recommend using SIDPlay if you have a desire to play them on
your own (although they seem to sound best with the real hardware of
course :)

If someone can let me know if they would be willing to let me use
their PC in this capacity, I would greatly appreciate it!
Werd,
Tim
