That's excellent news. Thanks in advance Bruce! Thanks also to Dennis
in Victoria for offering the video card with the odd connector (although
I don't think I'll be able to use it). And a special thanks to Jeremy
Mann for driving his motorcycle through the rain last weekend to meet me
and bring two usable SCSI-1 hard drives. You rock Jeremy! As it turns
out, I finally was able to find the ethernet card I need on eBay (it has
both a twisted-pair and an AAUI port). The seller has already shipped
it and it should be delivered this week.

What I really need at this point is the RAM (I'm keeping my fingers
crossed Bruce!) and an external SCSI cd-rom drive. I have found many
online resources about A/UX, which has become the focus of my project (I
may still also try to shoe-horn NetBSD in the mix if I can manage it).
Everything I have read indicates the installer requires actual physical
media; there is no work around for installing the software from over a
network or from an image on a hard drive that I have been able to find
documented anywhere.

So if you have any old external SCSI enclosure and/or any old SCSI
optical drive (capable of just READING a CD-R) then please let me know
if you could spare it, or could be convinced to part with it if the
price is right, or even just lend it temporarily. Of course as soon as
I get this all working then I'll gladly give a comprehensive
show-and-tell at the earliest XCCSA meeting when it's ready. (I'll also
be in the audience at the SATLUG meeting this evening. I'm sure I'll
bump into a few of you other members of both groups.)
