[XCSSA] looking for a Mac SE/30 ethernet card set

That was actually one of the three options that you could use with an  
AAUI port.

* Thicknet - the vampire tap stuff, using thick coax

* Thinnet - the stuff that used BNC connectors, using thin coax

* Twisted pair - using RJ-45 connectors, what would later be called  
10base-T

...and I would be surprised to hear that someone rigged up an optical  
adapter for it.

For a long time it was not sufficiently clear that twisted pair would  
win out (in spite of all the troubles with using coax), but mostly,  
enough customers already had legacy coax, so the AAUI port persisted  
for a while into the 100base-T era. Even Apple created a miniature  
version of the connector before finally giving in to twisted pair.



FYI, I'm probably going to make it to the meeting next week, so I'm  
bringing some 30-pin SIMMs with me. I have some already set aside,  
but those are probably 1Mbyte. I should be able to find some 4Mbyte  
ones if I dig around a bit.
