[XCSSA] Any Meeting Topics for next week? (19th)

Well, I just got the synth working with all the lights, buttons,
knobs, and LCD display...I'm not sure how stable that actually is but
maybe it's good enough for show. It's not 100% done. Most of the stuff
is cosmetic in nature (such as getting an amber LCD and some knobs)
but it does work and is pretty awesome! Honestly, I'm probably not
done with having to fiddle with the damn control surface wiring but
we'll see.

Someone on the MidiBox forums had a hugely smart idea of using a hot
glue gun to glue the wires down a bit better, or keep them from moving
at least and move the stress points away from the solder joints. That
would be nice, except now I have wires soldered on both sides of the
boards for the connectors so for me to do the glue thing, I'd have to
probably rip stuff up and do it yet again. So, I'm going to see how
well what I have holds.

In any case, if it's still working by next Monday, I'll bring er in. I
had hoped to have a full demo setup and ready to go. I might have
something but it will probably be more like what I did last time I
brought in my previous SID synth. The problem is that I have no mixer
(passive or otherwise) to mix down the 4 stereo inputs easily. Without
that capability, making a "live" demo is a bit difficult. Working on
that though. I'll have a demo eventually, just probably not by the
next meeting.

At the very least I"m trying to figure out a way to jam some SID
tunes. There's a Windows program for that but I haven't found one for
Mac. It needs to support SID Station output (since the MidiBox can
emulate that to play SID tunes). I may need to do something nasty and
install Windows on a portable drive or something terrible like that :)
If I have enough time to do it before the meeting, I will. The SIDs
sound pretty kick-ass with the MidiBox I have to admit. Plus there's
pretty LEDs for each of the channels :)

Having said all that, I'm not sure I want to commit to anything just
yet, because if I do, the damn synth will break on me again :) But my
plan is to bring it in as long as it works and so far I'm on track.

Tim
