I ran across grub4dos which seems to experimentally allow for booting
an iso image. It's tested with various live windows distros, There are
some issues with linux iso's mentioned. The main issuing being iso
distros that require access to more than initrd and vmlinux files
before bootup. Although one suggested way that might resolve the
problem is to remaster the iso to make use of grub4dos:

I haven't run across anything that mentions if anyone has tried BSD though.
