In 1980 I met the owner of a disco who wanted an unusual disco light 
show, so I covered the ceiling of the dance floor with clusters of RGB 7 
watt incandescents individually addressable  by a Z-80.  The disk jockey 
had a keyboard, and every key had a different pattern, so he randomly 
wandered around the keyboard to change the patterns.  It gave him 
something to do between record changes.
