Stallman is a great thinker and due a great amount of respect for his 
vision, but he's lost the marketing war. There's no way he's going to 
disjoin all the GNU parts from the Linux kernel in the minds of all the 
people who were introduced to the whole as 'Linux'.

If he wants to get everyone's attention and have them start talking 
about the GNU operating system perhaps he should sit right down and 
write a better kernel that results in a better OS.
